A "Virtual Photo Walk / Boat Ride" to the Channel Islands: Part 1 of 2
I'm taking you on a "Virtual Photo Boat Trip" out to the islands today....since it is my birthday and that is the kind of thing I like to do to celebrate The Channel Islands National Park is one of my favorite places in the world!! We are so lucky to have it so close by...just a short boat ride and you feel like you're a world away. It is easy to see why it has been called the American Galapagos. Over the years I have been lucky to spend a lot of time photographing its beauty. Every time I go, its such a wonderful adventure. Today I am enjoying reminiscing about the past adventures and looking forward to many more in the coming years.
Have a beautiful day!! 😘

The lighthouse on Anacapa Island is a fun place to visit , especially when the Giant coreopsis is blooming.
Not only is it beautiful...the great kelp forests are home to well over one thousand marine organisms to make up one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in the world. The islands can be enjoyed above and below water. Dive trips leave daily from the Channel Islands and Ventura Habors. Or you can enjoy the underwater live webcam of the kelp forest on Explore.org.
