At LATITUDES Fine Art Gallery, photography is more than art on a wall—it is an invitation to pause, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
Founded by photographers Stephanie Hogue and Steve Munch, LATITUDES was born from a shared passion for exploration, storytelling, and the transformative power of nature. From the rugged coastlines of California to the lush landscapes of Hawaii and the far corners of the globe, their work reflects a life spent chasing light, adventure, and meaningful moments.
Stephanie Hogue’s journey began in Texas before moving to Southern California in 1987 to attend the University of San Diego and later earn her photography degree from the renowned Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara. She built a celebrated portrait and wedding photography career in Ventura, with work featured in publications including Time, People, InStyle, and Modern Bride. In 2012, she followed a lifelong dream and opened LATITUDES Fine Art Gallery in downtown Ventura, later expanding to a second gallery on the island of Kauai.
A Ventura local since the early 90s, Stephanie has devoted over a decade photographing the wild beauty of California and the coast—drawn to its breathtaking landscapes, changing moods, and awe inspiring beauty. Her work is inspired by the quiet poetry found in fleeting moments: shifting light across the ocean, the stillness before a storm, or the calm found in nature when we truly slow down enough to see it.
Steve Munch, based on Kauai, brings a deeply personal connection to the ocean into every image he creates. A lifelong surfer, diver, and former commercial fisherman, Steve spent most of his life in, on, or near the sea long before he ever picked up a camera. Inspired by the imagery in surf magazines, he taught himself photography at a young age with relentless dedication and a clear artistic vision. His powerful images of waves, marine wildlife, and island landscapes capture both the raw energy and soulful beauty of the ocean world he knows so intimately.
Together, Stephanie and Steve have published four collectible coffee table books and built LATITUDES into a destination for collectors seeking artwork that evokes emotion, memory, and connection. Their galleries in Ventura and Kauai became known not only for stunning imagery, but for creating spaces where people could feel transported—to a favorite beach, a meaningful journey, or a place that simply spoke to their soul.
Today, their creative journey continues to evolve far beyond the gallery walls. Stephanie now travels internationally teaching photography workshops and immersive visual storytelling experiences alongside fellow Brooks Institute graduate Ken Lee through Art of Seeing Photography Adventures. Together, they guide photographers through some of the world’s most inspiring destinations—including France, Africa, and beyond—encouraging participants to slow down, see with intention, and create images rooted in curiosity, emotion, and personal perspective.
Whether through fine art prints, books, exhibitions, or shared adventures around the world, the mission of LATITUDES remains the same: to create artwork and experiences that inspire people to feel more connected—to nature, to beauty, and to the deeper moments that make life meaningful.
Fill your home with artwork that fills your soul.
