Find Your Escape: How to Use Fine Art Photography to Create an Oasis

Stephanie Hogue · February 19, 2021

The rush of stepping into the unknown and experiencing new terrain, culture, and meeting new people may seem like a distant memory. In the wake of the global pandemic, Covid-19, your 2020 & 2021 travel plans have likely been put on hold. Not only has the pandemic halted these plans, but it has also left people feeling stressed and even trapped. Since you cannot easily hop on a plane or for some, even leave your respective region, now is the time to create your own oasis. Using fine art photography you can create the thrill and rejuvenation captured when traveling. Check out the looks below to give you inspiration to infuse a touch of travel into your home oasis.

Beachy vibes: Who doesn’t feel rejuvenated after returning from a beach vacation? The sound of crashing waves, smell of salt water, and the warmth of the sun kissing your face is sure to make you feel relaxed. For those of us unable to access a beach, we can create this feeling in our homes with fine art photography.

  1. Hawaii Wave photograph as a focal point in the living room

Turquoise water, palm trees and golden sand takes you away to the islands

The turquoise hues in this photo are calling you to the ocean. This piece of fine art photography captures both the excitement of beach travel with its vibrant colors and the tranquility of sunbathing in the tropics. With such happy, welcoming vibes, hang this piece in a communal area of your home, so everyone can enjoy it!

A Hawaiian rainbow brings magic to your living space

What conjures relaxation more than the word “cottage”? Beach Cottage Blue is a calming piece of fine art that will steer you and your family into the cottage kind of calm. This piece goes best with a minimalist look like this living room.

That Road Less Traveled:  A stroll through a quaint town, a talented busker, or a chat with a local: these are those magical moments of travel. It’s not always about checking off the recommended spots in your guide. Travel is about finding those special moments.

The cascading pathway created by the welcoming trees in Road to Koala Render is a reminder of those peaceful and unexpected surprises when traveling. Pair a piece of fine art photography like this with earthy tones as pictured.

What could be more exhilarating than seeing the inside barrel of a wave as captured in this fine art photograph titled Waterman’s View? This artwork can bring you back when you need a moment to breathe and a brief escape. This piece evokes the feeling of catching nature’s most thrilling moments.
